There have been many covers circulating the web, some in response to the New Yorker cover that caused such a stir (the one I refuse to post).
This one is from the Willmette Weekly. It depicts Barack Obama as the male model on a romance novel cover. The comments are varied. I, personally, am not offended.
Many view it as an example of satire, Obama as the romantic political savior of every American’s dreams. Others claim it reduces a black man to a sexual object e.g. ‘a stud’, or buck. I disagree with the latter.
I know the intent is irony, but I kind of like the image on its own terms. What say you?
