Well you know that Beyonce is playing the legendary Etta James in Cadillac Records. Notably she sang Etta songs instead of lip synching.
Personally, I think Etta James deserved an entire movie based on her life but I digress. Who sang it better?

I agree. I used to think Ella Fitzgerald sang the original but I guess it was Etta.

Taula, I agree with ST plus, Etta has that smokey voiced tinged with just the right of honey that makes you want to sway from side to side while she sings.
Also I’m with you she deserves a whole moive dedicated to her life. -
It’s weird that the movie would revolve around the record company owner when he isn’t that interesting. Plus the reviews are mixed.

Now this girl can sang, but she is still not as good as Etta -
I think she did too many runs and trills for my taste. But she did a kick butt job on James Brown “It’s Man’s World.” That was flawless.
