I had really been trying to change my diet and then I received a divine directive. It's called The Daniel Fast. It's based off of the story of Daniel in the Bible. (Daniel 1:8-14)
To paraphrase, Daniel does not want to defile himself with the king of Babylon's meat so he requests to abstain from meats and delicacies for ten days. The Daniel Fast is based off this story.
So for 10 (in my case 21) days you only eat natural, sugar-free, chemical-free, dairy-free, meat-free diet. No yeast-bread or pastries are allowed. I started Sunday and I am happy to say I have made it through the first day. Hallelujah!
Like Daniel, your countenance should be brighter and healthier than all aorund you after the fast.
I will say, around 3:00pm things started to get tough. I turned on the television and saw like two commercials for Churches Chicken, one for McDonald's. I turned the station and Sister Act was showing. Wouldn't you know, they were in the scene in the bar and Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was playing on the jukebox.
The devil is a liar!
So, anyway, I made it through and I feel great. Really energetic. Cool.
greens in slow cooker with sea salt only added apple cider vinegar to bowl.
- salad with tomatoe, oregano, parsley, sea salt, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar dressing.(homemade)
- pecans and raisins snack
- fruit salad
- spring water with lemon
Interestingly, I felt less hungry, after 3 pm. Sooo the question is . . .who will join me?
**P.S.** I heard that Celtic Salt is better for you. May have to grab some. Has anyone used it? Does it taste good? Let me know in the comments. Thanks.
