Brandy decides to come out of the closet that was her fake marriage to her baby daddy, Robert Smith, in 2002. THEY WERE NEVER MARRIED. I have just one question WHY?
"I lied because of the fear of what people would think and the pressure to be a good role model," Norwood, 29, reveals to Us Weekly in her first interview on the topic.
"Our relationship was very real, we just weren't legally married," she adds. SOURCE
I was always a Monica fan back in the day. I couldn't get Moesha because at my college in countryville without cable I could not get the station. You know a broke college kid is not paying for cable. So the whole Brandy craze went right passed me.
Next up, Beyonce.
I have always been a fan of girl groups. From Escape, En Vogue to The Clark Sisters. So when Destiny Child first came out with the No, No, NO single I really wanted to like them. When Wyclef remixed it for them, I thought just maybe I have one more group to add to my 702 collection. Then they started making chickenhead music and kicking group members out and I became disinterested.
I thought, you know what, it's been a long time let me give Beyonce another try. Then I read that she stole her new hit single 'If I Were A Boy' from some unknown artist.
When I wrote about Beyonce’s version of "If I Were a Boy" last week, calls came pouring in from people who knew the real history of this story. BC Jean’s mother/manager, Lori Carlson, told me she couldn’t comment on the situation. But plenty of people knew the saga of Beyonce’s legendary manager/father Mathew Knowles’ aggressive pursuit of the publishing rights to the potential hit record. His goal was to get the rights to the song and to put Beyonce’s name on the writing credits. SOURCE
As a writer and an artist, this is so not cool.
However, I did buy Alicia Keys As I Am and I love it. I love the fact that she writes her own music, so no one tell me otherwise or else I will be heart broken. I did not start out on the Alicia Keys train. I always felt her earlier albums, with the exception of Fallen, were not authentic. They sounded like a singer TRYING to be soulful. With As I Am, I think she found her voice.
So, what say you? Am I a hater? LOL. Or do I have a point?
