The Dallas Mavericks, and My Very First Parade

So I went to the Dallas Mavericks Parade, my very first parade. It was something else. I really enjoyed myself but not without a few incidents.

First goal was to find a space that was not so crowded. We opted for one block from where the parade began.

Second goal – to avoid your cousins. Ok. I know this sounds sooo wrong at the onset. I am not speaking of African Americans in general. I am however speaking of the group of people that we ended up running smack dab into the middle of.

Who are "your cousins"? Those AA whose behavior makes you question whether or not they have mentally left the plantation.

Case and point – The very nice family we ended up standing behind (they were seated having arrived at 6 AM) were spotted by family member. Yep you guessed it "the cousins." Dudes were grilled out, loud and drinking in public. The nice lady who ended up being the aunt was upset they put beer in her cooler and kept asking her to get them bottles.

True to form, the media spotted every grilled tooth, grinning Negro for an interview including the aforementioned cousins.

My people, my people!

  1. I know what you mean about “cousins”. I, as a Latino, have several myself. Just look at what happened at Dodger Stadium on the opening day of the baseball season. Because the Giants were the opponents, and one Giants fan was wearing a Giants T-shirt, he was beaten into a coma and hasn’t come out of it yet. Nobody got a good look at the ones guilty other than that they were latins.
I have got to victory parades when the Lakers have won the NBA championship. Other than the few rowdy people there I’ve had a good time.
    Generally speaking…
There are those who will say that LeBron James is better than my man Kobe Bryant. NONSENSE!Once again, when all the chips were on the table, LeBron choked. He just couldn’t put that ball in the basket in the final minutes of each game. It’s in the closing minutes of the game when Kobe Bryant becomes the most dangerous. Let me give the following an an example of what I’m talking about.
In Jurrasic Park, when those dinosaurs got loose, they began hunting down those people. When the dinosaurs would find somebody, they would eat them where they stood. Those dinosaurs had no feelings, they had no remorse. That’s how Kobe Bryant is on that basketball court. Even if my Lakers are winning ( I’m here in Los SAngeles ), Kobe Bryant will hit a 3-point shot or slam one in your face and dare you to try and stop him. He don’t care about you, he don’t care how you feel, he has no remorse for you, he don’t care if he embaresses you in front of your friends, your family, your team mates, in front of a national TV audience, he don’t care if he makes you look silly in front of your woman. Kobe Bryant ain’t even thinking about you. What does LeBron do? He runs and hides because he gets scared. If anybody says that LeBron is better than Kobe Bryant, we’re going to have a prblem. LeBron is way over rated!

  2. Again, there is no comparison between Michael Jordan and LeBron. Like the dinosaurs in Jarrasic Park, Michael Jordan didn’t have remorse and didn’t feel sorry for you. In the closing minutes of a game, LeBron acts like he’s afraid.I’m more comfortable with compatisons between Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
