The BET AWARDS Recap

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know I was tweeting throughout the awards show. Here are some excerpts:

Twitter2

  • Otherwise the award were okay. Granted they tried to pull out a tribute with only days to revamp. I just felt really odd that BET seemed to be milking Michael Jackson's death for all that it is worth.

  • ****

  • On the rumor mill, Jay-Z apparently had Chris Brown booted from the Tribute even though the Jackson Family was cool with him performing.

  • This on the heels of rumors that Matthew Knowles, aka, Beyonce's daddy had Letoya Luckett prevented from performing on the main stage. She did present an award and sang outside the venue like new unestablished artists.

  • I guess hating runs in the family.

  • *****

  • Bobby Brown has gained so much weight, I thought New Edition had added a new member. They had like a 90s New Jack Swing reunion. All I can say is, I STILL love me some Keith Sweat.

  • ****

  • Note to Keisha Cole, never have a duet with someone who can outperform you. Monica tore it up. Next time duet with Ciara or that auto-tune vocoder box T-Pain uses.

  • ****

  • Jamie Foxx should decide on comedian, actor, or singer he was doing too many things for me but I hear that's because BET had to fill time due to Chris Brown being booted.

  • Did you see anything redeemable about the BET AWARDS last night? I know I did . . .

  • MAXWELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL!

    1. The only thing I would add is that BET is an embarrassment to the Black community. They set us back 20 years with the foolishness they allowed to be portrayed on stage.
The apex of foolishness is when Wayne hit the stage singing F-All The Girls In The World…with young teen girls on the stage. Now, if the song had to be censored the way it was for television, why would we allow it to be shown on television that young black girls were on stage partaking in the performance. That one I did not get.
Im not hating on rap or hip hop. Wayne is all good with me. I just thought it was inappropriate for the kids to be on stage, and two, not the time to do that song with the show theme being a tribute to MJ. Just my ops…

    2. Taula, LMAO at Keyisha cole performing with Monica. Monica is beyond beautiful and her vocals are way underrated. I had fun tweeting with you last night, I paid for it today.
