  1. I just got back from seeing the new Star Trek and I loved it. Zoe Saldana, who is a hottie, did a very good part. If you plan on seeing it, just wait and see who the high commissioner of Star Fleet Command is.
There’s lots of lightly hidden environmental and political comments throughout the movie. Here’s the only example I’ll give ’cause I don’t want to spoil it for anyone wishing to see this movie:
Mr. Spock is a Vulcan, as we all know. His home planet is also called Vulcan. A Vulcan is incapable of thinking, speaking, or acting illogically. Along comes the bad guy, Nero, and destroys the planet of Vulcan. Mr. Spock tells the Enterprise’s computer that he estimates that only about 10,000 Vulcans have survived. Mr. Spock then adds, “I am an endangered species.” A political comment? Perhaps. Remember, Mr. Spock is logical. Here’s what I feel this part of the movie is getting at: A lot of America has started to allow loud mouths like Rush Limburger do its think for it; the rationale is, if someone has a big mouth, that must be because they know what they’re talking about. Riigghht! That’s a very logical conclusion ( Right now Smooth Thug is rolling his eyes up at the ceiling ). It seems like a lot of this nation has flipped all the way out because a Black man is now president. It has began listening to buffoons who talk divisivness, they want the president to appoint a replacement for Souter who is best qualified, without one mention as to who defines what “best qualified” means, etc. In other words, logic has been thrown out the window… it has become an endangered species.
