Negative Thought Fast Plus – Week 2

So last week we fasted from negative thoughts. This week let's take it up a notch.

I noticed most of my negative thoughts were a reflection of what I had seen and also what I had heard. So, this week I am adding Negative Things We See to the list. This is particularly hard for me because I frequent a lot of blogs. Often I peruse the comments, which is a bad idea. Most blogs don't moderate their comments section, like I do. So crazies find themselves in there posting under aliases, starting fights with others and even themselves (hence the use of aliases), people start calling each other names. You catch my drift.

These negatives seen impact the thought process as well. This week, Lord willling, I am going to fast from seeing and thinking negative thoughts.

I ask your assistance in this. So join me or drop a line or two of positive feedback about anything in your mind. Does not matter, the topic.

  1. The semester will be over in a few days and I am thankful that I made through again.
I am also thankful for people that smile for no other reason than just to smile.

  2. Thank you for that, Kristin:

I am thankful for small miracles. They mean a whole lot when you are looking for hope. I got one today. Well, I got a few. Hehhee. Amen.

  3. I have been on the seeing less negative things kick for awhile. I am usually a news junkie but I can no longer watch local or national news.
I have taken up reading fiction these last two weeks. 1. Because I can’t stand to look at another technical document and 2. Because I need some escapism.
My fasting of negative thinking and speaking has been going pretty well. Far from perfect because of my obsessive compulsive tendencies but overall pretty good.

  4. You are preaching to the choir. I had to expel negative thoughts today. They creep up on you when you least expect it.

Keep up the good work. What r u reading?

  5. I am trying. Keeping a positive outlook even though I know I will be taking my laptop home tonight to work on a file. When I have gone negative I quickly remind myself that I am on a negativity fast and I look for the brighter side. So far its working.
The novel is by Jennifer Crusie. She had about six books on the shelf and the covers looked interesting. I picked up Fast Women. There aren’t any AA characters but it is interesting so far.

  6. That’s cool. I read a book a couple of weeks ago called A Girl Named Disaster. It was totally for a highschool audience but I read it to escape as well. It was about a little girl on a harrowing journey in Africa from her village to Zimbabwe to find her long lost father.

My classes have started so that is the reading I should be doing.
