Corinne is a British import whose 2006 album of the same name made waves across the pond. I rarely buy new music, only when I am truly moved. This album does it for me.
The sound is a late 60's aearly 70's musical vibe with a modern twist. Corinne's voice is Sade's voice's daughter or Macy Gray's voice sane cousin. he plays guitar and writes her owns songs.
My favorites are, in no particular order:
Choux Pastry Heart – This sad diddy gives Toni Braxton a run for her money in the 'it makes me wanna cry but I can't stop listening to it' category.
Just Like A Star – A whimsical love poem to some unknown love, perhaps her late husband. He died of an overdose. It's both an ode and a complaint, kind of how being in love is. It's good but you wonder at the same time why it isn't perfect.
Trouble Sleeping – This song emotes how falling in love is upsetting her balance in life. Although she is falling in love she is also fighting it. It's midtempo and fun.
Overall this CD is a 4 out of five stars. It's fresh in a way US artists cannot or will not be. It's not neosoul, or jazz, or R&B. Its like all of those things plus some Stevie Wonder circa 1969.

That and “Till It Happens to You” are my favorite tracks. I was on this album HARD when it came out. I think it’s time to revisit. =)
I could not find a video for it. That is my jam, though.
One of my favorite albums of all time and she is my favorite. Listening to the album for so long, my favorite song seems to change. Right now it’s “Since I’ve Been Loving You” and “Enchantment”.
