  1. AS I’ve previously said, “Barack” is a Semitic/Hebrew name that means “Lightning”. In other translations it means “He is a blessing”. “Obama” is a very common last name among the Luo peoples of Kenya in Africa.

  2. Funny you should mention that, “Get Togetha”. Let me set this up first. I’m way over here in Los Angeles, OK? About 50 miles east of Los Angeles is San Bernadino. Yesterday, the San Bernadino Republican Women’s club sent out a newsletter to all it’s members. It reminded all Republican women to vote for McCain and Palin, asked for a donation, etc. Now. At the bottom of this news letter was a dollar bill looking thing; the news letter called this dollar bill looking thing “Obama Bucks”. This “Obama Bucks” had a picture of Barack Obama in the middle, to the left of Barack’s picture was a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and some ribs. To the right of Barack’s picture was a pitcher of Cool Aid and some watermelon. But wait a second, that’s not all. The news media picked up on this and went straight to the home of the president of this San Bernadino Republican Women’s club to ask her what’s up with this. She wasn’t home, but her husband was. So the news lady asked him what was up with this “Obama Bucks” thing (The news lady showed the husband an “Obama Bucks”), do you know what he said? He said, “I don’t see anything wrong with that”. That’s no lie, may God strike me dead if I’m lying! It didn’t stop there. The news lady then told the husband that such images are offensive to Afro-Americans. To that the husband said, “Says who?” The news lady then said that suggesting that Afro-Americans eat only those foods is a racist statement (or something to that effect). To that the husband said, “Well I’m Italian and I eat spaghetti and meatballs and you don’t see me getting all angry.” The next scene was where the news lady found the daughter of this ladies club president. The news lady asked her what was up with this “Obama Bucks” thing. The daughter said the same thing… “I don’t see anything wrong with it”. The news lady then said that suggesting that Afro-Americans eat only fried chicken is racist. The daughter answered, Well I eat fried chicken and watermelon too”. In other words, the daughter was saying so what! The scene changed again. The news lady found 2 members of this San Bernadino Republican Women’s Club who happened to be Afro-American. They both said that they were outraged and would like an immediate apology.
    1) In reply to the husband, who says that such images are offensive? The Afro-American community says, that’s who!!
    2) As far as eating Italian food goes, if the husband, and/or the entire Italian-American community, for that matter, wants to allow America to cast them all as being a bunch of spaghetti eating Mafia crime bosses and not get “all angry” about it, that’s their business.
    3) If the daughter wants to shove fried chicken and watermelon up her rear end all day, that’s her business too.
    4) And one more thing: the husband said that he found the “Obama Bucks” on the internet so that makes it OK. I don’t care if he found it on the moon. No, it’s not OK!!
    5) Why would an Afro-American want to have anything to do with the Republican party in the first place?
As you can tell by now, I’m very offended. I’m offended because anything that offends my wife offends me. Not only that, if my brothers and sisters in the Afro-American community are offended, then I’m offended as well.
