There is much debate about the best National Anthem performance of all time. Although, I am a Jennifer Hudson fan, my money is on Whitney Houston.
Her arrangement is simply a vocal masterpiece. You would have to be a singer to appreciate the nuance and vocal orchestration. Her voice has such power without being overbearing. Enough of me telling you about it. Take a listen.
Did you know this performance was actually recorded? I guess the Super Bowl policy for the National Anthem was it had to be pre-recorded for insurance purposes (in case she lost her voice or something) so she was lip-synhcing to her own vocals. Just a little fun tidbit for you…
