Natural Hair Recipe That Works For Me

Okay, being a natural woman, my hair needs a lot of TLC. I’d gone to salon to get my hair trimmed and purchased some Miss Jessie’s curl products. They worked great for a minute but after a while I noticed my hair was becoming really dry and hard. I finally read the ingredients and I figured out why. There was paraffin in one product and beeswax in another.

After perusing some sites, I found a few natural ingredients that I liked and made my own concoction:

3 oz Aloe Vera Juice

2 oz light conditioner

2 oz vegetable glycerin

1 tablespoon or 2 of olive oil

Voila! My creation was done. So I washed my hair with some Creme of Nature Detangling shampoo and put that concoction all over my hair and left it to dry. The result? I have never had so much sustained moisture from any product I’ve ever purchased. My curls are so buoyant. Yes, buoyant. lol. I am just gonna stick with the do it yourself products from now on.

If you have a recipe that works well for you, Please leave it in the comments. Thanks.

  1. I keep it in the refrigerator. The consitency is like custard or pudding, but my hair never dries out. I love it.
You may want to play with the proportions, depending on how your hair reacts to oil and whatnot.

  2. Yeah Diva B:
I reverted back to a perm a few times before going natural for life. It was always because my hair would become dry and unmanageable.
I later found out it was the drying shampoos and slick conditioners full of alcohol and polymers.
This concoction is nice, inexpensive, and easy.
I have to wash my hair less often because it is non-sticky and a boost rehydrates my curls.
