You know you are getting old when you can’t understand the music the kids are listening to. I was in the salon getting my hair braided (horrible experience, another time, another post) and the TV was set to BET for the full ten hours I was there. I felt like Huey from the Boondocks after he watched BET nonstop. Needless to say, I felt the intelligence oozing out of my ears.

Anyhoo, this song kept playing and I couldn’t get it out of my head, Get Silly. Apparently, ‘get silly’ or ‘too silly’ is a form of slang. I haven’t quite figured out what it means, I just know that the rapper said it like a million times during the song.

I started to think of all the ‘silly’ things in my life and I too made a list:

My Hyundai, too silly,

My bank account, too silly,

The fact that I am writing this post, too silly.

They canceled Girlfriends, too silly.

I am bitter, too silly.

I am sorry I can’t continue, this is too silly.
